Planning a wedding is an adventure paved with pitfalls. Even if you think you know your P's and Q's well, a wedding is the biggest test you can endure.
However, it's not all about etiquette. Here are some of the top mistakes you can make in planning a wedding and how you can avoid them.
Hangovers
The hen night my not be an age old tradition, but it's one that we girls are loathe to let go of, and rightly so. One last night of freedom with your girlfriends is well deserved after planning the wedding.
But the bags under your eyes are not the best look for anyone, as they walk down the isle, so if the hen night is the night before the wedding, keep the drinks to a minimum.
Bridezillas
Your wedding is your own special day, and of course, you want to have it exactly the way you dreamed it. But did you really dream that your guests are bored, and your husband to be hates the colour scheme?
It's an obvious fact, that many brides forget, but it's his wedding day, too. Involve him in the planning, even if it's just an occasional meeiting to discuss your new ideas. Your fiance may have some great ideas, if you let him get involved.
Impersonality
Wether your wedding is a big, formal affair, or a small, casual affair, what you do want it to be is a unique, family affair. As the most important day of your life, it should reflect exactly that. Your life. Something your guests can relate to and remember as your wedding.
Forgetting why you're there
A wedding is a big party - probably the biggest many people will host in their lives. But it's all too easy to forget that the party isn't the main event.
Make sure you out enough thought into the wedding to make sure that people know you're there to afirm the love you have for your fiance, and not as an excuse to be the centre of some rather expensive attention for the day.
