We met on Match.Com and spent the first week emailing each other, I knew straight away he was different and I was super excited about our first date. We met at the Riverbank in Nottingham and Antony was 5 minutes late, which didn’t get him off to the best start. However, as soon as I saw him and his happy smiley face I knew we were going to have a nice night, which we did. We talked all night and when he put me in a taxi home I knew this was the start of something special.

Antony proposed when we were on holiday at the Secrets Maroma Resort on the Riviera Maya, we arranged to have a romantic meal on the beach. We had an amazing meal with Beef in a chocolate sauce. We finished dinner and the waiter brought over champagne, Antony got down on one knee, and asked me to be his wife ….

The planning of the wedding was easy thanks to Shanine our wedding organiser. Anything to do with the venue was taken care of. We went for a look around and fell in love with Stapleford Park immediately. The venue was very grand and set in gorgeous countryside. We loved the Orangery and the Grand Room. Shanine sorted out a Menu tasting evening where we were able to taste a few dishes before we made up our minds up on what to serve for the wedding breakfast. The food was divine, it was a hard choice choosing, but we went for the beef, which went down a treat.

I had looked at numerous dresses but nothing was really wowing me. I was with my mum and I was showing her a dress I had previously seen. I tried it on and I loved it and so did my mum, but out of the corner of my eye, I spotted a dress hanging on the back of a changing room door. It had only come in to the shop that morning and they were getting it ready to put on the rails. I instantly loved it and had that WOW moment when I tried it on. Everyone in the shop loved it and came to take a look. It was beautiful and I felt like a million dollars.

We booked Paul Martyn as our entertainer. We met him at a wedding fayre and he was playing the saxophone. He was also a singer and after we heard him sing we were sold.

The smaller things like rings, flowers, invites, cake all fell into place without a lot of organising.

The colour scheme was very pale pink to match the bridesmaids dresses. We had beautiful roses as the button holes and my bouquet. We also asked the florist to dress the 8 columns in the Orangery where we had our ceremony. It looked beautiful
