Hen an stag dos are notorious for ‘what happens on them stays on them’ mentality, where you can let loose and be ‘single’ for only last night before a lifetime of monogamy. It is not surprising that 27% of Brits say that they enjoy this one night out more than their actual wedding day.

With everything from the colour scheme right through to the venue, big or small there is a lot to organise and so a lot of pressure to meet deadlines and get the right people for the right jobs. Many think that the time spent before the wedding with their friends is the most enjoyable part of the wedding experience as a whole, according to Airkix. There are no expectations other than often to get as drunk as possible and have lots of fun and who can’t keep up with that pace?

73% of men and women said that doing something that goes against their normal routine is what makes a stag or hen do shine. Only 6% wanted to have a joint hen and stag do with their partners.

It would seem that the majority want to stay away from their partners for one last night of freedom. Both sexes prioritise eating and drinking as being a key component of a good stag and hen do as well as watching an event, such as a football match or going to see their favourite music artist.

Simon Ward, CEO of Airkix, commented: “These results show the hen or stag party is still very much part of a traditional wedding preparation, but that more people are looking to do something a little out of the ordinary.

“We welcome many hen and stags through our doors and have recently witnessed a rise in groups looking for a shared fun experience which is a little more memorable that just the usual food and drink based celebration”.

Airkix developed their ‘Stitch Up’ packages which now include the opportunity to dress the chosen flyer in a Superman or Supergirl costume and provide them with an unforgettable ‘in-flight’ photo to take home.

About Airkix

Opening in October 2005, Airkix was the UK’s first purpose-built wind tunnel, providing the popular indoor sky diving or body flying experience. Anyone aged 4 -104 can experience the adrenaline-charged feeling of freefalling indoors within a safe environment. Visitors can fly at three locations including Milton Keynes, Manchester and  the new Airkix Activity Centre in Basingstoke.

Airkix works simply and safely. The wind tunnel circulates air into the flight chamber – the flyer simply leans forward into the wind (usually around 110mph) and assumes a horizontal flying position, this is indoor skydiving! Airkix consistently scores an average satisfaction rating of around 95% in the post flight survey with a recommendation rating even higher.

The wind tunnel is not just for first timers and skydivers from around the World use Airkix. In fact Airkix instructors and sponsored flyers have gone on to represent the UK in a wide variety of skydiving events and even produced World Champions. A wind tunnel is one simulator that skydivers cannot afford to ignore if they wish to win Gold.

The latest Airkix centre at Basingstoke takes the company to new levels as it adds further experiences to create a full day of activities for individuals and groups alike.

Experiences include Skiplex the never-ending indoor ski and snowboard slope, Brushboarding, an innovative surfing simulator where you never need get wet and Sim Car Racingwhere you can race a wide variety of cars including F1 on circuits all around the world.

Airkix likes to welcome all groups including first timers, the military, skydivers, corporates, stag & hen parties and is especially proud of its record of flying physically disabled flyers. Notable successes include flying a quadriplegic and helping to train (and sponsor) a skydiving team where all members are missing limbs.
