Angry Mum

My mum has always been a bit touchy but recently she's flipping out on anything.

I'm wondering whether it might be menopause she's in the age of 45-50 years old. if it sounds like it could be menopause do you have any ways that could make her feel better/ happier quickly?

I really want to help her if i can at the moment i just try to be calm about it but its hurting my feelings when she says something she doesn't mean.

please help x

I think it's so lovely that you want to cheer your mum up Harriet.

While there is nothing specific you can do in regards to menopause little things like helping her around the house, maybe cooking her tea one night or just generally been helpful will help to improve her mood.

Tell her what you told me that you want to cheer her up and I'm sure this will make her realise she has been upsetting you.

Yang's Answer

You need to tell your mum that she has been upsetting you.

She probably doesn't realise and though it is no excuse, it is hard when you are in a bad mood to switch it on and off so anyone you see will feel the brunt of it.

Explain you want to help keep her happy but that she has been hurting your feelings and I'm sure you will see an improvement in her mood.
