Arab asks :

I had my period last month and sexual intercourse which about 5-6 wks ago. I have bloated stomach hip pain back pain leg pain could I be pregnant even though I had a period

Yin replies

Back pain can be attributed to pregnancy, yes, so I would go and get a pregnancy test just to be sure. You can visit your local doctors and ask them to test for you if you would prefer.

Usually if you have had a period then this is a good indicator that you are not pregnant, but it is always best to be sure. It could be that the bloated feeling is in preparation for your next period, as this can be a symptom that you are coming on. Women often feel lower back pain and leg pain too if they are due.

Yang replies

Have you recently changed your contraception? Sometimes a new pill can cause new symptoms if you have begun a new one. If this is the case go to your doctor and tell them that you are not happy with you current contraception and ask them to change it.
