Friendly Feelings

Love? asks:
Recently, I am starting to really like my best male friend. I think he may like me too, but I'm not sure, particularly given that I am quite chubby. He gives me a huge cuddle every time I see him, and he tells me things that he wouldn't even tell his closest male friend.
However, I was hideously drunk at the weekend, and one of my friends told me that I ended up kissing his cheek and telling him that I liked him. He didn't respond to that, obviously, but is that because he doesn't like me, or because he thought I was joking, given my state of mind?
Please could you give your advice - I like him so much, and can't get him out of my head, but I don't want to lose our friendship.
Having feelings for a friend is always difficult territory as you risk ruining your friendship if the feelings are not reciprocated.
If you tell your friend how you feel and he doesn't feel the same way then he may feel awkward around you and you may end up not as close as you once were.
Has your friend given you any signals that he may like you? Flirty behaviour? Cancelling plans with others to see you? If yes I think you should take the risk and tell him.
If not just brush the kiss off as a drunken laugh and move on.

I'm afraid I don't think you and your friend have a romantic future and unless you want to risk your friendship I would try and move on.
I think if your friend did have feelings for you he would have reciprocated after the drunken kiss. People tend to drop their barriers after they have been drinking and reveal their true feelings.
Been chubby has nothing to do with it though so please don't run yourself down for that reason. Sometimes people just work better as friends.
