Which Path Do I Take

hannah asks:
At the moment i am deciding what career path to go down. Im thinking of dropping out of 6th form to do a fashion course at college.
The problem is i will have to wait 7 months to start the course so I wont be doing anything but my part time job for a while.
Im worried that it will become very lonely as i will leave my old friends behind and will not have the same social life for a while. I've had depression in the last couple of years and at times have felt very lonely.
Is this something that should stop me doing a course i will enjoy or shall i go for it? Is there anything i could take up in this time to meet new people? Thanks :)
This should not stop you doing the course that you think is better for you.
Seven months is plenty of time to perhaps find another job with more hours which will give you the opportunity to meet other new people.

If you are worried about loosing your friends then it is up to you to make the effort to still see them at evenings and weekends.
Tell them that you're worried about leaving them but want to still see them out of 6th form.
If you make the effort then you won't loose touch with them and when you start your new course you will meet a whole other group of people and double your friend circle.
When this happens though be sure not to neglect your old friends.
