Firstly if you try to be funny and you are not naturally quick witted, then it might never happen. You may spend the entire time thinking of amusing things to tell her and not really listen to a word she has said, meaning the date has been wasted.
Women like you to pay attention to them and what they have to say. Perhaps focus less on trying to make her laugh and more on her. If you show an interest in her then the funny things don't matter as much. Obviously, it should not be all doom and gloom but you don't have to feel like everything that comes out of your mouth needs to be a joke or make her laugh.
This can be tiring and look like you are trying too hard. Relationships should be easy company, not forced. If you focus more on why you are actually there- to get to know each other better- then once you are relaxed in her company, more lighthearted stories or jokes might just fall into conversation.
If you feel like you are boring her then perhaps think of some new and exciting things to do on your dates- they don't have to cost a lot, but maybe she needs you to be more inventive. If you always end up at one of your houses or at the pub- why not think outside the box? A picnic in a picturesque part of where you live, a romantic walk, a trip to a remote coffee shop in a country village. Date nights can be monotonous if you let them, but if you think of something out of the ordinary sometimes, then it will keep things fresh and interesting.
With all that said, relationships are about back and forth, so she needs to put in some effort too in terms of date ideas and recognizing what you do for her. If you constantly feel like you can't please her or that decisions are always left to you, then maybe this match isn't for you.
