My friends disapprove of my boyfriend

Hi India,

Your friends are likely jealous that you have a boyfriend. When one in the group begins to date, it can make the others feel uncomfortable so they will pick fault where they can. Are they all single? If so, they are probably thinking how you having a boyfriend will affect them, which is human nature, but selfish nonetheless.

It seems that you value their opinion or you wouldn’t have written in so is this something that you are worried about too? Often we use other people’s opinions to as an excuse to do something or not to do something when actually the very thing has already crossed our minds or is praying on it.

Take your friends out of the equation, do you trust him to be faithful to you? He may have been out with a lot of girls- but is he faithful to them when he is with them? Some guys do date but when they are with someone they are monogamous, some men sleep around- which one is he?

If you feel like he will be faithful to you then give him a chance, but if there is doubt in your mind that his intentions are not to them maybe it’s time to end things.
