An ''abandoned puppy'' in San Diego turned out to be an infant coyote.

A man walking his dog came across what he believed to be a newborn canine and took it home for care.
However, members of the San Diego Humane Society came to treat the adorable animal to only find it was actually a baby coyote.
The organisation wrote on its Facebook: ''To their surprise, the little creature was actually a coyote pup!''
The sweet animal was transferred to Project Wildlife, a Humane Society group that looks after wild animals.
Vets at the centre determined that the coyote was only a few days old and its eyes hadn't even opened yet.
The cute creature is going to stay at the Fund for Animals Wildlife Centre, where it will stay until its ready to be released into the wild.
