The couple, identified only as Mr and Mrs Green sold their home via Justin Dyar, an agent at Lake Holmes Realty in 2021, who was contacted by the new home owners about something sparkly they had uncovered in the Lewis Smith Lake home.

Justin said via Facebook: "Turns out, this is Mr. Green's wedding band that has been lost since the house was built.”

He also said that when the couple first married in the 50s, they could not afford wedding bands, according to their daughter, and waited years to get “proper rings”.

The realtor revealed that the ring was now back with Mr Green, who built the house in the 90s.

"It has now been returned to the Greens and they can enjoy this special piece that has been gone for so long. They appreciate the new owners for reaching out and returning this priceless heirloom to them."
