According to new research from BBQ brand Weber, over half of Brits (51%) would like to learn how to cook meats such as wild boar, crocodile and kangaroo and 38 per cent are now actively seeking to experiment with beef and pork alternatives.

The statistics also found that Brits are actively seeking out sustainable 'status symbol' meat alternatives, with almost one-third (30%) of home cooks shopping for meat based on their sustainability credentials.

In response to the intense demand, Weber is offering the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for Brits to hone their skills behind the grill with a series of bespoke butchery and BBQ masterclasses.

Dan Cooper, Weber's Head Grill Master said: ''Without a doubt, we Brits are getting more and more adventurous when it comes to cooking, with many of us looking to serve non-traditional dishes to impress our friends and families.''

The event will be hosted at Meat N16 in London, and will offer a series of tips and techniques on how to prepare, cook and serve a range of dishes including alpaca kebabs, wild boar burgers, roasted bone marrow and an ostrich scotch egg.
