The recipe box company Mindful Chef found that two-thirds of adults eat badly because they feel they don't have the time to prepare meals.

The study also found that three-quarters claim their lives are too busy to squeeze in a gym session, while a fifth have admitted to cancelling their gym memberships.

Giles Humphries, the co-founder of the company, said: ''It's clear a huge proportion of us need help to achieve a healthy lifestyle.''
