A pet cat's meows led rescuers to its owner after she fell 70 feet down a ravine.
Police in Cornwall were searching for the 83-year-old woman when a member of the public heard her cat, Piran, making a noise.
This helped rescuers find the victim after she had fallen down the drop "with incredibly difficult access and uneven terrain" and into a stream on Saturday (14.08.21).
The woman was taken to hospital via air ambulance and is said to be in a stable condition.
Bodmin Police said: "Piran the cat saved the day."
An eyewitness added that Piran's purring was instrumental in finding the woman.
She told BBC News: "It's a massive 'well done' to all the emergency services who worked together and to Piran.
"The outcome could have been a lot worse."
