The quiz left thousands of children and adults defeated with many taking to social media to figure out the unfathomable answer.

According to the BBC, the question was: ''If a ship had 26 sheep and 10 goats on board, how old is the ship's captain?''

Despite receiving some reasonable answers, it appears the whole concept of the question was to be unsolvable.

The Shunging Education Department revealed there wasn't an answer and said: ''The role of education is not to produce standardised spare parts.

''Each answer can reflect a different personality. A question that can have different answers is a good question.''
