A 28-year-old council member in Kagoshima prefecture in Japan has blamed an upset stomach after he was caught speeding.
Court documents revealed by Japanese news outlets this week reveal he was caught driving well over the 80 kph (49.5 mph) speed limit as he travelled at 169 kph (105 mph).
Hasataka Hirai told the Asahi Newspaper: ''I had diarrhea, so I was in a hurry to get to a bathroom. I regret my actions and I will drive safely in the future.''
