New York worker Nandlall Mangal, 42, won $245.6 million in the lottery in August, but he decided to put the ticket in the safe and seek counsel from a lawyer.

The carpenter didn't tell any friends, family or co-workers about his winnings, and he even continued to work for a month without letting it slip.

He later told WPIX11 that he knows his colleagues will find out now after seeing his story on the news, and confirmed he has taken the lump some option of around $100 million.

He said he will put the money in the Sea & Sand Trust.

Meanwhile, the local Stop & Shop Supermarket will receive $10,000 for selling the winning ticket, and the business announced the funds will be donated to a Staten Island food bank.
