Council don't empty bins

The Renfrewshire Council apologetically revealed they were unable to carry out the collections this week because of the freezing temperatures.

On a Facebook post, the council wrote: ''Brown bins could not be collected today as their contents froze in the icy weather. They will now be collected on the next scheduled date. Apologies for any inconvenience.''

The council revealed they will be emptying the bins on the next collection date which will be in two weeks' time.

Across Renfrewshire, temperatures dropped as low as -4C, although climbed to 2.3C on Wednesday afternoon.

Many took to social media to express their dismay that the council failed to do their basic job.

Zeb Harris responded to the post saying: ''As an ex pat living in Mid Norway, our bins are emptied every two weeks.

''The temperature here are between -10 and -30c. during the winter months.

''They don,t have problems. P.S we even have snow for about five months of the year......(sic)'
