Brendan Ring, the owner of Nighttown in Ohio, was stunned to receive the generous gift from the customer who had only ordered a single beer. He had thought that the tip was for $300 but was astonished to find out the true figure when he put his glasses on.

The unnamed man instructed Ring to split the cash among the staff at the club, which has been forced to shut for a second time during the pandemic.

Ring told WOIO-TV: "I have to consider my staff, right?"

"In the last two weeks, this COVID has gotten very, very close to all of us and I've had four customers, really close customers, get it."
