Border collie Lulu was named in the will of Tennessee businessman Bill Dorris after his death last year and is entitled to his fortune.

Lulu is now cared for by Bill's neighbour Martha Burton and is reimbursed for monthly expenses spent looking after the pooch.

The will specifies: "$5,000,000 will be transferred to a trust to be formed upon my death for the care of my border collie Lulu.

"This trust is to provide for all the needs of Lulu. The dog will remain in possession of Martha Burton."

Burton admits she is not sure what to make of the decision to leave the dog so much money.

She told WTVF-TV: "I don't really know what to think about it to tell you the truth. He just really loved the dog."
