The pet accessory was made available to order on the US President's official website for $16 for the annual day on April 11, to celebrate animals, with the slogan used in American politics that was popularised by Trump in his successful 2016 presidential campaign.
The description on the site read: ''Your faithful companion will thank you when you take him or her for a walk with our MAGA Pet leash, whether it's a walk in the park or just around the block, you'll make your walk great again with this functional and fashionable leash.''
However, users on the micro-blogging site weren't happy with the promotion and many hit back at the advert claiming it was ''animal abuse''.
One user joked: ''My dog is smarter than most Republicans in Congress.''
