Staff patrolling the grounds of HMP Guys Marsh in Dorset found three rodents and opened them up after noticing their stomachs had been stitched.

They found the creatures' insides had been removed and replaced with cigarette papers, cannabis, five mobile phones and chargers, and three sim cards before the animal carcasses were sewn back together.

This isn't the only bizarre method used to get contraband into prison as banned items have previously been discovered inside tennis balls and pigeons.
