An elderly couple were shocked to discover that the "gorgeous pate" they were eating was actually cat food.

Angela Holloway has been delivering shopping for her mother and step-father Margaret and Donald Lincoln throughout the pandemic but mistakenly forgot to separate the pet food meant for their pet Aggy from the rest of the items.
This led to her being puzzled when Margaret explained that she had eaten "a really lovely dinner of absolutely gorgeous pate and baked bread".
It turned out that the couple, who now live in France, had tucked into the cat food after failing to notice the moggy on the packaging and struggling to read the French labelling.
Holloway admits that she was "howling with laughter" after noticing her parents' feline faux pas.
She said: "Honestly I nearly wet myself. I was absolutely howling with laughter.
"My mum started laughing then my sister started laughing. My sides were splitting, my mouth was hurting, I was laughing that much."
