A poll by Big 7 Travel showed that Britain thought the county deserved the top spot on the list with Northern Irish accent coming in second and Glaswegian landing third place on the list.
Queen's English was fourth while the Mancunian accent came in fifth and voters thought the Brummie accent was the least sexy, coming in last.
A spokesman for Big 7 Travel said: ''There's very few other English-speaking countries with as many varieties of accents and language in such a small space, making the British Isles uniquely diverse when it comes to dialects.''
