A family in Florida discovered a message in a bottle from Cuba.

Katie Bodiford and her family were exploring an overgrown island near their home when they found the plastic bottle with a note inside. She explained how they had to cut the bottle open before carefully removing the water-damaged note from inside.
The message was not signed but the family believe that it was written by a child who launched the bottle during Hurricane Irma, which swept through Cuba in 2017.
Bodiford told WESH-TV: "It's just amazing that that kid went out there in these really big winds with this Hurricane Irma and was brave enough to throw it out there in the ocean."
