Lily Wilder made the extraordinary discovery in Barry, Wales and experts think it could help establish dinosaurs walked.

The footprint was spotted last month and is 220 million years old. It had been preserved in mud.

Wilder's mother Sally told BBC News: "It was Lily and Richard (her father) who discovered the footprint.

"Lily saw it when they were walking along and said 'daddy look'. When Richard came home and showed me the photograph, I thought it looked amazing.

"Richard thought it was too good to be true. I was put in touch with experts who took it from there."

The dinosaur which left the footprint has been described as a "slender animal" that walked on its two hind feet and hunted other small animals and insects.
