A 14 year old who goes by the pseudonym Xiao Shen was taken into Zhuji People's Hospital in East China's Zhejiang Province after suffering five days of constipation and bad appetite insisting her abdomen was ''bulging''.

The girl was taken for an X-Ray which revealed her body had not properly digested the bubble tea - which contains tapioca balls also known as pearls or boba and had vast quantities of undigested tapioca balls in her stomach.

Xiao Shen - who said she'd only had one cup of the pearl milk tea - was prescribed laxatives to help her pass the balls.

Doctor Zhang said: ''She must be hiding the true number of pearl milk tea she had. So many undigested tapioca balls can't all be from just one cup. She must've had quite a few over a short period.''
