Google Assistant now has the power to read bedtime stories to children, with a brand new update called Apps For Families.
The tech company has unveiled the latest change to its voice-controlled assistant, which will allow the machine to recite fairy tales to youngsters, as well as provide ''experiences'' including games, nursery rhymes and soothing sounds.
Dupont de Rivaltz, global partner manager at Google, said: ''We are excited to bring Apps for Families to the UK.
''Experiences such as activities, music and stories from well-known parent brands can be used on any Assistant-enabled device such as Google Home or a phone or tablet, bringing together the whole family for fun, learning and more.''
The experiences come through partnerships with companies like Aardman - makers of 'Wallace and Gromit' - as they produce a range of opportunities for the app.
