Referencing the rumour comedian Freddie Starr once ate a hamster - something he has gone on record to deny - Amanda Johnson has been updating her Facebook friends with the drama that started when she was transporting the pet back home.

As reported by the Daily Star Online, the furry friend has been missing for a week already, and has started to chew up the interior of the Ford Kuga.

She explained: ''I decided to rename my car Freddie because Freddie Car was eaten by my hamster.''

Taking to social media, she has revealed the shocking moment the mischievous rodent slipped out of reach.

She wrote: ''I looked and there's a f***ing hamster sat under the f***ing clutch pedal! Holy s**t balls! Wtf!

''No stopping allowed on the roads so had to drive the rest of the way home knowing there's a f***ing hamster on the loose in my car!''

The resourceful hamster has managed to avoid eight traps in a bid to keep its freedom, and has chewed through the passenger side seatbelt, wiring, the seat covers, the airbag, boot and plastic casing.
