HMRC has spent more than £10,000 over the last five years as it apologised to taxpayers for making mistakes.

A Freedom of Information request by the Daily Telegraph newspaper found that HMRC spent as much as £10,298 between 2014 and this year to date on flowers.
The taxman has defended the strange gesture, saying that the bouquets were a ''more personal gesture'' for responding to complaints.
But John O'Connell, chief executive of the TaxPayers' Alliance said: ''What a ridiculous and woefully inadequate way of apologising to hard-pressed taxpayers who have been let down by the system.
''The best way for HMRC to cut down on the costs of sending flowers would be to avoid making the errors in the first place.''
