A man who lost his hand after an attack from a charging bull had it sewn back on in a 12-hour operation.

The 22-year-old man named Rauf was working at a saw mill in Manipuram, Southern India on October 5 when a bull broke free and charged from behind.
He tried to flee but tripped and fell on one of the saws, and after the incident his horrified colleagues immediately put pressure on his wound and put his severed hand in a bag of ice.
He was rushed to hospital and treated by a plastic surgery team. They replaced the severed palm in a 12-hour long surgery which was performed in two stages because it was so extensive.
Rauf left hospital after four days and his hand has regained 90% of its functionality.
Doctors said that the fact Rauf's colleagues preserved his hand so quickly was ''crucial to recovery''.
