The man - who uses the name Dinosaur Dracula on Twitter - gave his followers the chance to see the contents of the 25-year-old snack, which had remained unopened.

In a Twitter thread, he joked that the tin could have come to life as it festered for 25 years.

He wrote: ''Opening a wildly corroded can of Spider-Man Pasta from 1995.

''I put the can opener to work, unsettled by the rust, but emboldened by the lack of noxious fumes. I turn the knob and wince, unable to rule out the possibility that the contents have mutated into something alive & malevolent.''

The tin revealed a giant mass of pasta, although the brave individual was able to spot the faint outline of a Spider-Man shape which is displayed on the can.
