Sio Agofili was left behind bars after he nor prison authorities realised that his two sentences didn't need to be served consecutively.

Agofili should have been released from prison in 2015, which he only discovered when a judge pointed out the error as he was in court for another matter.

The 45-year-old admits that he ''lost count of the days'' during his incarceration.

He told the Samoa Express: ''No one told me when my jail term will end.

''I lost count of the days [behind bars]. I don't remember much about when I should be out, I just know I had to serve my time.''
