A university plans to pay people to eat avocados.

Loma Linda University in California is looking for 250 people to consume various amounts of the fruit for six months in order to establish whether or not it helps trim belly fat.
Each participant will be paid £230 for their services at the end of the trial.
On their website, researchers posted : ''Since avocados contain the highest fat content of any fruit, it seems illogical to think they might actually help people lose their belly fat.
''Nevertheless, that's the hypothesis behind an upcoming study.''
