A Mongolian restaurant is serving 'oxygen cocktails' in a bid to combat air pollution.

In the capital, Ulaanbaatar, people have taken to sipping on pure oxygen after the air has become 133 times more polluted than is deemed safe.

The 'cocktails' are made by adding a can of oxygen to juice and claim to have the same benefits as taking a walk in nature.

The advertisement reads: ''Drinking just one oxygen cocktail is equal to a three-hour walk in a lush forest.''

However, scientists are suggesting there is little evidence to support these claims.

Maria Neria, head of the World Health Organization's public health department said: ''We don't have any scientific evidence to suggest whether they produce any benefit.''
