The 12-pound Rhesus macaque at the University of Louisana at Lafayette was able to get out over the weekend due to an error at the New Iberia Research Center.

In a post on Facebook, it was revealed that the album - which was born and raised at the centre - was last seen heading towards a nearby wooded area when it was spotted on Sunday (15.09.18).

The post read: ''The animal was born at the center. It is used to people but it is not a pet and should not be approached. Personnel from the center are actively working on recapturing the animal.''
