The company behind the popular biscuit has set up a disaster-proof vault in Norway to preserve the snack in the event of the apocalypse and have been packed to remain fresh regardless of the temperature.

The bunker has been built due to the threat of an incoming asteroid, even though it has only a 1 in 240 chance of striking Earth on November 2.

Oreo tweeted: “Each cookie pack is wrapped in protective Mylar which can keep our cookies safe from temperatures of -80°F to 300°F."

The vault also contains a supply of milk so survivors of future catastrophes have something to wash down their cookies with.
