A mischievous mother has hidden a toy skeleton in a wall to scare the next owners of her home.

Sue Goff thought of the prank after remembering that she had the bones in her loft as she and her husband were renovating the living room at her house in Surrey.

Goff had discovered a window space where the former owners had left photos and has now placed the skeleton in the gap to give the future occupants a fright.

She told The Sun newspaper: "The skeleton had been part of a toy for my grandson. I needed somewhere to put it and we couldn’t use the wall space as a closet.

"The minute my husband saw me putting the skeleton in place, he smiled, tutted and walked off.

"I’ve played practical jokes on my kids all their life, so I think they’re a bit sick of it."
