Tiffany Roberts said her family were shocked when their female rabbit Vader started giving birth as they had been assured that their male bunny, Romeo, was neutered when they bought him.

Robins told WFMY-TV: "It was like 10, it was like 15 and then I was like, 'Oh my gosh, we have 24 bunnies.'"

She revealed that her family are hand-feeding some of the litter to take some of the strain off the new mother.

They looked up the Guinness World Record and found that Vader's giant litter ties the amount for the most baby rabbits, which had been set in New Zealand.

Robins added that Romeo is now staying with a family friend to make sure that there are no more surprise pregnancies.
