Penguins at SEA LIFE centres across the UK have had fun in the sun as they prepare to welcome back human visitors.

SEA LIFE centres in Hunstanton, Scarborough, Great Yarmouth and Weymouth transformed their Penguin Beaches into Penguin Beach Bars to give the animals a chance to bask in the spring weather before visitors return to SEA LIFE on May 17 once coronavirus restrictions are eased.

The beach bars feature lots of fun activities, including parasols, deck chairs and bucket and spades so the penguins can relax and party in style and have come just in time for World Penguin Day on April 25.

Nigel Croasdale, SEA LIFE Hunstanton’s General Manager said: "We’ve all undoubtedly had a tough year with national restrictions and our SEA LIFE creatures have been missing seeing guests smiling faces every day, so we wanted to spread some cheer for our feathered friends in celebration of World Penguin Day. Penguin Beaches across the country are going to bring the Ocean Beach vibes of Ibiza to the aquarium, so our penguins can let loose and party in style."
