A squirrel got drunk after eating a fermented pear.

Katy Morlok has been feeding the squirrels that gather outside her home in Minnesota and decided to give them an old pear she had found in her fridge.
She saw one squirrel, which she has nicknamed Lil Red, take the pear and run up a tree. Morlok then noticed that the squirrel was noticeably off-balance when it reappeared later on.
She told KMSP-TV: "And then it kind of dawned on me ... oh no, those pears were so old I bet they fermented. And then he got drunk and I did not mean to do that so I went out and I grabbed all the pears."
Morlok was concerned about Lil Red's health but the squirrel seemed fine the following morning.
She explained: "In the morning, he came back for his little hangover breakfast and he's been fine ever since."
