The flight from Sudan to Qatar was forced to turn back after just 30 minutes when the feline emerged in the cockpit of the aircraft and attacked the pilot.

The crew attempted to capture the 'aggressive' moggy, but the plane was forced to turn around as there was no other way to resolve the situation.

Officials believe the cat found its way onto the plane when it had been parked for cleaning the night before the flight. It is believed that the stray discovered a concealed space in the cockpit before being woken up as the plane went into the air.

The incident is not the first time a cat has caused havoc on a plane, as a moggy escaped from a cage and delayed take off on a flight from Canada in 2012.
