A teacher has asked a group of parents to buy her a pair of designer shoes.

The parents grouped together to buy a gift for the teacher, who - after being asked what they should buy with the money they'd raised - asked for a pair of expensive shoes.

A parent from the school has actually taken to Mumsnet to discuss whether the teacher has been "cheeky".

Her post read: "I'm torn about how I feel about this. On the one hand, I'd usually spend a tenner on my DC's teacher and I always welcome the opportunity for someone else to sort s*** like this and why shouldn't the teacher get what she actually wants rather than 10 best teacher mugs.

"On the other hand, I can see why it's kinda cheeky."
