The British budget hotel firm has revealed some of the strangest demands made by guests over the year with one visitor asking what time they could see the snake on the Snake Pass in Derbyshire.

One guest in York asked a member of staff to sing in the room next door to make sure he was staying in quiet room while another asked where the Welsh rarebit lives.

Travelodge spokeswoman Shakila Ahmed explained that the company received a surge in bookings with many forced to holiday at home due to the pandemic and that has led to some weird queries.

She said: "Where possible, our hotel teams will go above and beyond to help customers as they relish a good challenge.

"However, there are some requests beyond their control, such as arranging afternoon tea with the pandas, getting a shooting star to appear at 10pm, getting a part on 'Emmerdale', and getting seagulls to sing instead of squawk."
