A woman was injured after being struck by a sword during rehearsals for a Viking battle re-enactment.
The unnamed lady was hit on the neck by a man practising his sword combat skills in a field in Yalding, Kent.
A witness said: ''They've got proper swords. They were practising and he caught her neck. It really was an accident, a terrible one so I'm glad she's okay now.''
The woman was taken to a hospital in London dressed in Viking battle gear.
Local residents expressed their shock at the incident.
One said: ''I was quite surprised because it's a lovely quiet village, not much happens here and that's the way I like it. I do hope the people are okay though.''
