Inventor Colin Furze - who keeps followers updated with DIY trips and tricks in videos posted to YouTube - spent months building the passage and admitted that while it takes "a little longer" to get to his shed through the tunnel, it makes things "more fun."

He told The Mirror: "It’s been one of the most talked about projects on my channel! It’ a very cool project, everyone likes the idea of digging tunnels I’m very lucky as it’s quicker to open my back door and walk to my shed, but it’s much more fun to use an underground tunnel and it means you don’t get wet if it’s raining."

Colin reportedly started constructing the tunnel back in November 2018 and spent the next year digging down until he had reached around three-and-a-half metres and used and a bucket with a pulley system to hoist the rubble out of the hole as it got deeper.
