British singing sensation Jay Sean is all set to release his first ever collaboration with an Indian singer. Sonu Nigam who is one of India's famous singing artist will feature on one of Jay's singles.

The 30-year-old, who is currently touring India to perform at the 'Bacardi Like It Live' event, told the Hindustanti Times: “I’ve been a huge fan of Sonu Nigam since a long time. I love Bollywood music and listen to it regularly. I’ve always liked Sonu’s voice. So when I met him recently, we decided to work together.”

The song, titled 'The One,' is expected to be released next month.

Jay said: "I recorded my part of the song in the US. Sonu did his bit in India itself.”

Jay may also be doing more Indian collaborations in the future:
“I like singers like Adnan Sami and Udit Narayan for their voice. In the future, I plan to work in India more often. So you never know, I may be working with more Indian singers soon.”

Jay first debuted in 2003 on the Asian screen as part of the 'Rishi Rich Project.' Consisting of Rishi Rich, Juggy D and Jay Sean. Their first taste of UK chart success was the Asian underground song, 'Dance with You (Nachna Tere Naal.)' Following their success Jay went solo, producing hit tracks such as 'Eyes on you' and 'Stolen' where Bollywood beauty Bipasha Basu featured in the music video.

His debut album, 'Me Against Myself' was released in 2004 and received much critical praise and acclaim. The singer was referred to as an "Asian sensation" and was praised for his experimental, creative fusion of contemporary R&B, British hip hop and Indian music.

In 2009 he announced at the MOBO Awards that he has signed with the American hip-hop oriented record label 'Cash Money Records.' This made him the first male British Asian singer to sign with an American label. His American debut single was 'Down' featuring American rapper and label mate Lil Wayne.

Jay has proved his versatility within the music industry and now will do so again with his latest collaboration. I think his collaborations with Indian artists will prove to be popular and very much look forward to hearing them!
