Allison Pearson's second novel

Allison Pearson's second novel

The book invites the reader to relive their teenage years after forty year old Petra finds out she was a competition winner after finding the letter amongst her mother’s belongings. She claims the prize twenty four years after her mother entered the competition and flies out to Vegas to meet her adolescent hero.

A book full of love, friendship and wit, this book will be an unstoppable read, so make sure your schedule is empty for a couple of hours.
“I Think I Love You” toys with the idea of teen crushes that could become a reality by one twist of fate. It satirises the girlish idea that we are worthy of our childhood hero’s love but this time, that one girl gets lucky to meet him.

If you can laugh at yourself, the way you were as a teenager then read away, otherwise this book is not for you. Pearson uses life experiences that most women go through to set the plot giving Petra a release from her trapped everyday life.

Pearson has taken inspiration from her own experiences, being a hopelessly devoted David Cassidy fan and now a mother to a “Twilight” saga, “team Edward” fan.

This book is highly recommended to escape the constant trappings of normality.

“I Think I Love You”, published by Vintage is out 3rd February 2011, £7.99 paperback.
