1. I rarely write at home. I wish I could because I would save a lot of money on coffee and bagels. I need to figure out how to be more productive at home. I guess I’ll have to go to a coffee shop to brainstorm how to do it.

2. I am an only child. I can’t help but think that’s why I have such an active imagination. Years of practice talking to my New Kids on the Block posters and playing in the woods by myself gets the wheels turning.

3. I am an accountant. I have two degrees in accounting and have worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers, Fox Entertainment Group, and as a freelance production accountant, most recently on the 2019 film Little Women. Working freelance helps me balance my writing career. The goal always being: less accounting; more writing.

4. I have lived in 6 different states and Quebec. Working as a production accountant requires me to live on location for 4-8 consecutive months at a time. I used to maintain a studio apartment in Los Angeles, but for years it was more of just an expensive storage unit.

5. I watch a lot of TV. Probably too much. I don’t discriminate though and will watch a trashy reality show or a critically acclaimed miniseries with the same unbridled enthusiasm.

6. I never thought I would be a writer. I wasn’t a big reader as a kid and the thought of being a writer wasn’t something I ever considered. I wanted to be a farmer until my dad brought me to a farm. Then I wanted to be a rich business lady, even though I had no idea what that meant. I do vaguely remember writing a play in my high school English class about siblings fighting over a free mattress they found on the side of the road. I would pay good money to get my hands on that again.

7. I just bought new golf clubs. This is not relevant to anything, but I’m averse to big purchases and have been playing with my grandmother’s old clubs since I started golfing 15 years ago. The only downside is I will no longer be able to blame my horrendous golfing on the clubs being from the ‘70s.

8. I was struck by lightning. When I was around 3, I was sitting on my mother’s lap and a bolt of lightning hit her wedding ring. A ball of light burst around my little body and completely freaked my parents out. I was fine. I think. . .
