A Furnished Affair

A Furnished Affair

What can readers expect from your new book?

Light-hearted, humorous and total escapism from life's daily chores.

This is a story of love, laughter and new friendships. Lois discovers a whole new world she never knew existed till now. She finds herself unwittingly pitted against love rival Rebecca Giles, Lucien’s alluring and high-polished ex-girlfriend- Lois and her friends encounter a few close shave along the way. Within a business where loyalty is paramount, can Lois secure a future furnished with happiness it will a case of jealously and ambition tarnish her chances forever...?

Please tell us about your inspiration for the story and the character of Lois.

Lois along with other characters throughout the novel are based on a few close friends with added exciting twists.

Have you always wanted to write a book or is it a recent passion?

Writing a novel was always a lifelong ambition, but never thought I would have the confidence or ability to complete one.

Please tell us about your writing process.

It starts with an idea that grows into a sentence, into a page, then a chapter- once you get the basics- the rest just flows.

Who are you reading right now and which authors do you admire the most?

I'm currently reading LJ Ross. I have no preference on authors- all are individuals.

The book reviews have praised it for how funny it is- so is humour an important part of life for you?

The humour side does somewhat come from my personality and I do believe for anyone it always brightens your day- as per the quote “Smiling is infectious, you catch it like the flu. When someone smiled at me today, I started smiling too.......”

What has been the reaction of friends and family?

Initially everyone was excited! Any author would tell you writing a novel can be a long process- now that the book has finally been published, the excitement has turned into being ECSTATIC!!! I’ve had a lot of continued support.

Which writers have inspired your work?

My book is purely based on my own imagination. You hear of some authors who have written a book. (Have they? Or was it with help of a ghost writer?)

This is your debut so do you have any plans for a second book?

I do have one or two ideas for further novels, but would like to see how “A Furnished Affair” progresses and take’s off first.
